Questions?

What is a Mosaic Photo?

A mosaic photo (Also known as a photo-mosaic) is large photo made up of smaller photos. Each pixel is represented by a small photo, known as the cell photo.

When viewed from a distance, the individual pixels appear as the primary image, while close examination reveals that the image is in fact made up of many hundreds or thousands of smaller images.

What do I get with my order?

You will receive a customized photo mosaic, printed on quality photo paper or canvas. The mosaic is made from your own picture collection and printed in the size that you choose.

How does the order process work?

The order process works in a few easy steps. Create an account or login. Upload your favourite photos. Choose a print method (Paper or Canvas) and size. Fill in your delivery address and submit your mosaic. Simple!

How many photos do I need to make up a good Mosaic?

You could literally make a mosaic with any number of photos. But as a general rule, the more photos the better. Aim for at least 200 photos to reduce the number of duplicated cells photos. The larger the photo, the more cell photos you will need. An average Mosaic has about 50 x 40 cells. That's almost 2000 cell photos! So if you didn't want any duplicates at all, you would have to supply a lot more than 2000.

All care is taken to ensure that duplicate cells are spaced away from each other, so you should not notice the duplicates that often.

Will all my photos be used?

Not every photo can be used. As you can imagine if you have a cell photo that is predominantly pink, but nothing in your primary photo is pink, the cell photo will not get used. Our software is very clever, and it will make minor adjustments to some of the cells photos to ensure a perfect colour match.

100% satisfaction, guaranteed!

Before any money has changed hands, we will send you a digital preview via email. If you are not 100% happy with how it looks, you are free to change it as many times as you like until you are. Your happiness is our goal.

When will I receive my digital preview?

Please allow up to 48 hours to receive your digital preview. But generally we will get back to you within a just a few short hours.

How long will it take for my mosaic to arrive?

It only takes a few days once you have finalised your order. But please allow up to 5 working days in remote areas for your Mosaic to be delivered and 10 days for canvas prints.

Can I send my photos via CD?

Absolutely! If you are having trouble uploading photos. Please feel free to contact us and send us a CD directly. Unfortunately we will not be able to return your CD. So please only send us a copy of your favourite photos.

How are the Mosaic Photos packaged and shipped?

The photo mosaics are packages in a large Postpak Tube. Canvases are carefully wrapped in brown paper and cardboard. They are then delivered with all care via Australia Post or a Local Courier. (All deliveries are free to anywhere in Australia.)

Should I crop and prepare my cell photos?

All cell photos will be cropped to a perfect square. The landcape cell photos will be cropped in the middle and the portrait photos will be cropped towards the top of the photo. We have found this is the best method for people photography. If you have any concerns about your photos, it would be a good idea to crop them yourself first. If you like, for a small fee, we can crop each of your photos to what we think is best.

What kind of photos is best for a mosaic?

Generally a photo with as little detail as possible. If you can imagine, the detail of the photo is made up of smaller cell photos. And if the cell photo is bigger than the detail it is covering, the detail will be lost. Check out our [sample photos]  for some good ideas.

Can you create black and white photo mosaics?

We can certainly create black and white photo mosaics. We have made plenty of these in the past and they generally turn out great. If you would like a black and white photo mosaic, please send us an email after placing your order and we will convert all of your photos to black and white automatically.

How do I pay for my Mosaic?

Our website uses [PayPal] for all payments. You do not need to have an account with PayPal, but it does help. If you do not have an account with pay pal, you can use the credit card facility that PayPal provides to pay for your mosaic. PayPal is the safer, easier way to pay online without revealing your credit card number.
